Transduction of Touch

"Touch is Energy...
....Energy is ethernal delight"

 Touch Therapy

The effects of touch are easy to understand, but the mechanics of it are far less so. Our nerve endings when stimulated, the physical energy is transformed into energy used by the nervous system (called impulses) and are passed from the skin to the spinal cord and brain. These is called transduction, and no one knows exactly how it takes place. At least not as clearly as some scientists put it...

Holding your loved ones’ hand and giving them quick hugs for example could be more valuable than any material gift simply because physical expressions of affection are part of the profound mystery of touch. When we kiss endorphins are released to our blood stream and hand holding and hugging stimulate nerve endings under our skin and send calming messages to the brain.

Touch is indeed the first language we learn. Touch can even communicate an ever wider range of emotion than gestures or expressions, and can be more accurate than words.

Of course you can always say “I love you,” to your special someone, but a kiss and a hug may better communicate what you really mean. And that is just one example: Pre-term babies tend to thrive more when they are held regularly and there had been studies too about the connection  between high rates of physical affection in childhood and low rates of adult physical violence! And let us not forget MASSAGE and its many benefits!

If you are single this Valentine's, or have been single for a while like I am, why not get a "feel good" gift for yourself... the touch of other humans has a positive impact!

Get a haircut, a facial, have a MASSAGE or another kind of spa treatment to take care of yourself.

Touch will affect you in a very positive way, whether you are aware of it or not, whether you believe on it or not...

And that's the truth...
